This is The Place Wedding

June 27, 2014

When I first met Jessica my initial impression was “Oh My Gee she is so fabulous!”  It’s true!  My first meeting with Jessica was at a quaint little bakery on Main Street in Salt Lake City.  I met her and her darling little girl there for lunch.  We chatted about her wedding day and all the lovely details she had planned.  She told me it was going to be blush and vintage.  And it was lovely!

The wedding was held on a beautiful Saturday in May at This is The Place Park.

The weather was fantastic….just until the ceremony was over.  As we started group pictures it started to rain.  So we headed over to a cute little pink house that was right next to the actual wedding venue and we were able to finish up under the porch.  It actually turned out to be no big deal…and the little bit of rain made the colors pop and so beautiful.  So thank you rain..you made my job easier.

Jessica’s dress was a fabulous golden color.  The most gorgeous color gown in the history of ever.  When you looked at it up close it had this beautiful gold hue to it, so much more buttery than ivory or cream.  Seriously spectacular.  Her bouquet was mega fabulous.  Beautiful Peonies…in the most fabulous pink shade that I have ever seen in my entire 33 years.  I died…dead!    The entire evening was simply lovely! LOVELY!

Three days prior to the wedding I got kidney stones.  IT SUCKED! BIG TIME!  I was in so much pain at the wedding, but I just kept smiling.  At one point I had to sneak off because I thought I was about to end up in a coffin. But the good Lord gave me strength and helped pull me through.   I was so bummed I didn’t feel good because the energy at this wedding was magical.  Simply awesome.   Tony has Pacific Islander heritage (I believe Tongan..but don’t quote me on that) and they had a floor show of dancers and singers and it was lovely.  The food was fantastic and the vibe was remarkable. While the dancers were doing their fabulous hula, wedding guests would go up and toss money at them…stuff it in their dresses and just shower them with moolah.  After the dances the dancers gathered up the money and gave it to the couple.  What a fabulous way to give money to newlyweds.

Tony then gave Jessica a little present in song.  He sang “My Girl” to her.  I am not going to lie that I cried….and it wasn’t because of the Kidney Stones.   He has a stellar voice and just a genuine spirit about him.   Then the party began.  The dancing was so energetic and contagious.  Had I been feeling like my normal self I would have surely gotten out on the dance floor and did a little tail feather shaking.

It was a amazing evening.

I wish Jessica and Tony all the best for their lives together!  Congratulations

XOXO-Kandis
