Luck of the Irish {Photography Workshop Ireland}

In July I was able to travel to Ireland to teach a photography workshop.  I have traveled all over the world, but I was nervous to travel to Ireland.  Nervous for the silliest reason.  The real reason I was nervous because I knew I had to drive on the other side of the car, on the other side of the road.  That scared the crap out of me.   I knew that the roads in Ireland would be much more narrow than in the States and adding that to the wrong side of the road and car gave me heart palpitations like you wouldn’t believe.  BUT GUESS WHAT?  It totally was fine!  Well kinda.  I did hit a few curbs.   Don’t ask me to parallel park either…cause I will get out of the car and make someone else do it.

Ireland is so beautiful!  It’s everything I imagined it to be.  Green patchwork rolling hills, cobblestone fences dividing the property lines, SHEEP everywhere. Oh the colors, all the beautiful colors.  I was told that there is 40 shades of green in Ireland and I believe it.  The colors of the buildings, the doors and all the beautiful flowers! So many beautiful farms, quaint towns and the kindest people in the world.

I was completely in awe of the authentic and genuine people I met on my journey.  I don’t know if the word ‘kind’ adequately describes how insanely beautiful the Irish souls are.

It seriously was like a dream.  I want you to imagine you’re driving down the road and turning a bend in the road and there is a castle.  You drive a little further and you cross a bridge to find another castle, an abbey and a ancient graveyard.  Proceeding forward you see another beautiful castle and once again you pinch yourself that you are in Ireland.  The only thing that would have made it anymore perfect would be to stumble upon a leprechaun.

Now let’s talk about the super amazing accents?  I could listen to them all day long.  Upon asking a guy at a local pub restaurant if he could fit 4 more for the evening he said “I could fit ‘farty-far”  Forever it is etched in my brain and heart!

Would I go back to Ireland? Heck to the yes!

Miss Sophia {Utah Children Portrait Photographer}

When Sophia arrived to her session with me I thought “oh you little sweet thing!”  She is so tiny and petite and I was afraid the Bentley and Lace skirt and top I had picked out for her would be ginormous, but alas I was able to rig it with some clamps, and a little magic!

Sophia looked so sweet in the silk floral skirt and her hair…can we talk about her braided crown?  Seriously I am a girl who loves some good braids!

Now back to this outfit….isn’t it just the sweetest?   The skirt has layers and layers of tulle under it that makes it so puffy and princess like.  I’m just always so in awe at the quality of the dresses Elizabeth from Bentley and Lace sends me a few times a month.  And I just feel so lucky that Liz trusts me so much with were precious designs….and sends them all the way to Utah for my clients to take advantage of.    Every little girl wants to feel like a princess and I’m so lucky to be part of these princess moments.

This session was photographed with my Canon 5D Mark IV and 70-200 2.8 IS II, plus edited with Wish Kaleidoscope Photoshop Actions .

Miss Sophie {Utah Child Photographer}

Before I sent back the beautiful carousal dress by Bentley and Lace I had one more session request here in Utah for it.  This time the brown eyed beauty Sophie.  Sophie stole my heart with her kindness.  My goal is always to make my little clients (and my big clients) feel beautiful and special, but she flipped the tables on me.  She told me “your daughters are so lucky you are their mom.  You’re so beautiful and nice”.  WHAT?!  Oh my gosh could she be any sweeter?

Sophie has the most lovely deep brown eyes and beautiful long brown hair and her smolder was enough to knock a man dead.  Seriously such a gorgeous gal!   As beautiful as the weather in Utah has been lately it doesn’t compare to how beautiful this girl is!

The whimsical editing was done with my Photoshop action set Wish Kaleidoscope.   It really has everything one needs.    This session was photographed with my Canon 5D Mark IV and my 70-200mm 2.8 IS II
