It was a beautiful day in June when Aaron and Cheryl got married. Their reception and ceremony was at The Park City Mountain Resort in Park City, Utah. It was lovely.
When I arrived to the resort I arrived a tad early so I waited till I saw a member of the wedding party. Low and behold the member was the Groom himself. I asked him how he was and he said “sick”. The night before their wedding Cheryl and Aaron when to dinner with some friends and poor Aaron got food poisoning. I felt so horrible for him. But he was being a trooper and I think once the excitement of the day started to creep upon him the food poisoning was on the back burner.
We rode the ski lift to the top of the mountain where the wedding ceremony was. The ceremony overlooked the mountain resort and it was just so spectacular. The trees were so green and as you look out at the mountain you can see where the groomed ski runs are in the winter.
Prior to the ceremony Aaron and Cheryl did their formal portraits…and I must say I wish more couples did this. Mainly because it saves so much time after the wedding and the couple can enjoy their day with their guests.
While we were taking the formal portraits Aaron was so excited to marry his bride. He was so giddy and kept saying “is it time yet?” “I can’t wait.” “let’s do this.” “I’m so excited.” “is it time yet?” . I couldn’t help but giggle because his attitude embodied everything that should be on a wedding day.
When the wedding ceremony started the sun was out in full force…which is spectacular for those who want blue skies and sunshine…but hotter than hades for me who wears a cute trendy little blazer to weddings. Nevertheless it was beautiful. The bride was walked down the isle by both her parents. When they got half way, Aaron came over and walked Cheryl the rest of the way.
Aaron and Cheryl wrote their own vows and they each had their best man and maid of honor give a few words of advice. Then they smooched and it sealed the deal. ZIP…DONE! BAM!!
After the ceremony and some formal group portraits we made our way over to the Alpine Slide. I had to head on down before the bride and the groom to capture them coming down off the slide….and let me tell you, it is frighting going that fast down a mountain on a self controlled death machine carrying $25,000 in camera equipment…but I did it. And I’m here to say that my equipment and my skull is just fine.
The evening was finished off with a lovely reception in the Legacy Lodge at the Park City Mountain Resort in Park City, Utah.
They had a splendid dessert buffet……It was lovely, and yummy and oh so divine.
The touches of vintage decor and the cool vibe of the most fabulous couple made the evening awesome!
Thank you Cheryl and Aaron for allowing me to be part and to photograph your most perfect day.
Congratulations!
