One of my dearest friends Kari’s oldest child got married a few weeks back and when she asked me to be their wedding photographer, my heart was smitten. You see Kari and I first met when she came to my very first Wish Retreat Workshop for Photographers back in 2011. I’ll never forget the moment I realized that we basically shared a brain. She cracks me up with the simplest of stories and there simply is never a dull moment. So being at their home photographing one of their happiest family moments was so special.
Kassidy and Kody wrote very special and sweet vows to each other and Kody finished his in the knick of time before the ceremony. It was sweet to watch him ponder all the things he wanted to say in a matter of a few minutes speech.
As the girls was getting ready Kassidy’s dad came in to give his sweet wife Kari a foot massage as she had been on her feet for days getting all the details perfect. It was so tender watching him rub her feet as she wiped the tears from her eyes.
The weather couldn’t have been more beautiful that day in Vernal, Utah. The sky was blue and the tempter was perfect.
The DIY details was lovely in every way. I guess when you’re a photographer like Kari…you have photographed enough weddings to know what you want. The dessert bar was so tasty with endless pies with their lattice tops, brown sugar crumbles and flakey crusts. And let’s not forget to talk about the donuts…WHO DOESN’T LOVE DONUTS?!
The evening wrapped up with a dance party, complete with a conga line!
There is nothing better than watching people you love celebrate with all their hearts. My heart was happy!
So grateful to be part of this beautiful day!
Congratulations Kassidy and Kody!
