Each Halloween I team up with my friend Heather Shelton, who is a very talented hair stylist an makeup artist to do a creative Halloween shoot.   As we were talking about different ideas the idea of puppet doll came up.  We tossed around different looks and I came up with this outfit.  Now we needed to find the perfect model.  One of the dance teachers at my girls studio came into my mind.  I knew Charity would do a perfect job.  With her red hair, pale skin and her adorable freckles and knowing she is a dancer totally elevated this shoot.  Her dance background allowed for this shoot to be AMAZING.   Because she is so aware of every part of her body from her wrists to her fingertips, her elbows and her knees…. she knew exactly how to move to make the images look like a broken down doll.

The day that we were going to shoot, I still had no idea where I wanted to photograph this session at.  I was having a serious brain lock in the location department.  And then I thought how she looked like a ventriloquist doll and how she needed to be on a stage.  But I didn’t have access to a stage…but I could do it next to the Capitol Theatre and their ‘stage door’ downtown Salt Lake City.  So we did.  It was perfect….the simple ally way was exactly what we needed to put the cherry on top.

This shoot will go down in history as one of my favorites!
